New Girl Pilot Review
Summary: (Fox) An attractive 20-something year old female is cheated on by her boyfriend and needs a place to stay. She moves in with 3 20-something year old men and faces challenges with living with opposite gender.
Where It Excelled: Well with a little more than average jokes, Zooey Deschanel can pull it off and generate a few laughs. The writing was written well, without being too cheesy. Although everything seemed a little fast-paced.
Where It Needs Improvement: Jess (Zooey Deschannel) obviously leads the group and is the funniest. My biggest problem with the show was that Jess just meet the 3 guys and she acts like she's known them for years and already know what they like and dislike. For example she and the guys are comfortable being in the room with her while she showers, going out to dinner with her and not being awkward at all, and she even cries on their couch in front of them for hours. Also a lack of immediate background is a downfall to the series.
Bottom Line: Although the show seems to have potential, it's starting out rocky and can only appeal to a certain type of people.
