Ratings At A Glance: Whitney{NBC}

The above image is the ratings graph for the NBC show Whitney. You can see the steep ratings decline.

The show Whitney on NBC has been critically panned by critics. It has done so-so in the 18-49 demographic rating though. The 18-49 demo ratings determines if a show will be cancelled or not, based on how high or low the rating is. The 18-49 demo is important because the rating determines how many people between 18 and 49 years old are watching which is recorded by Neilsen. Higher ratings mean more ad revenue which means a better chance of renewal. Also its based on the networks 18-49 average rating. NBC's is around 1.7 and a show can't average worse than 1.5 to get renewed. Here is Whitney's ratings:

22-Sep 3.3
27-Sep 2.5

Note: On January 12th, Whitney was moved to Wednesdays at 8pm against American Idol. Before, it had been on Thursdays at 930 with The Office as it's lead in.

Currently, it has been determined that Whitney could go either way. Renewal or Cancellation is just beyond the horizon. It really depends. If Whitney's current ratings drop further, it may get cancelled. If NBC's average drops, it has a higher chance of renewed.
